The department was established in the year 2005 with 50 students. Department offers 3 years B.Sc Costume design and fashion course affiliated to Bharathiar University since 2005. The master’s degree programme M.Sc affiliated with the Bharathiar University was started from 2012. Approximately 1000 students have passed out and most of them have been well placed in reputed companies and some of them are successful entrepreneurs. Many eminent personalities has visited and participated in the department activity.
